Londres

Sigulda é uma vila calma e pacata, Londres é o oposto. Quando cheguei senti-me claustrofóbico, observado e rodeado por imensa gente em todo o lado a todo o momento. Nos dias seguintes adaptei-me a este ritmo mas no início foi um grande choque ter de esperar em filas e demorar muito tempo em transportes.

Fui visitar a Rita, uma amiga que já está em Londres há bastante tempo. Sem ela teria sido completamente diferente, além de ficar em casa dela fomos a sítios que fazem parte da Londres que ela conhece e gosta. Fomos ao parque de Greenwich e passeamos à noite à beira rio, fomos a restaurantes e pubs que não teria ido sozinho.

Além dos habituais sítios obrigatórios e turísticos consegui visitar exposições de fotografia (Saul Leiter, Alec Soth e Julia Margaret Cameron) que não tenho oportunidade de ver em mais nenhuma cidade.

Culturalmente é uma cidade muito activa, com muitas oportunidades e pessoas de todo o mundo, mas na qual não viveria. Senti falta da floresta e dos espaços verdes de Sigulda, foi bom regressar para tudo isso e para as crianças no infantário.

Sigulda is a quiet and calm village, London is the opposite. When I arrived I felt claustrophobic, observed and surrounded by lots of people everywhere at all times. In the following days I adapted to this rhythm but at first it was a shock to have to wait in queues and take a long time in public transports.

I went to visit Rita, a friend of mine who in London for a long time. Without her it would have been completely different, besides staying in her house we went the places that are part of her London that she knows and loves. We went to Greenwich park and we walked at night along the river, we also went to restaurants and pubs that would not have gone alone.

Besides the usual compulsory and tourist sites I could visit photography exhibitions (Saul Leiter, Alec Soth and Julia Margaret Cameron) that I don't have the opportunity to see in any other city.

Culturally is a very active city with many opportunities and people from all over the world, but which I wouldn't live in. I missed the forest and green spaces of Sigulda, it was good return to all of that and to children at kindergarten.
