Estocolmo

Depois de sabermos de uma promoção do cruzeiro Riga-Estocolmo-Riga, não podíamos deixar de aproveitar. Passámos duas noites no barco no mar Báltico e cinco horas em Estocolmo. Foi muito divertido ir com mais sete voluntários, rever os antigos e conhecer melhor a nova vaga. A viagem de barco na primeira noite foi um pouco atribulada, sentia-se muito as ondas, mas ao mesmo tempo também nos embalavam para dormir.

Fiquei bastante impressionado com Estocolmo, lá sente-se o verdadeiro espírito escandinavo. Tudo é bem pensado e desenhado. Nota-se que a cidade é feita para as pessoas se sentirem bem nela. Os preços são bastante mais altos do que na Letónia mas a qualidade de vida é melhor.

Estivemos poucas horas mas valeu a pena, conseguimos visitar o centro da cidade e viver o espírito de Natal bem presente. O próximo país nórdico que quero ir é a Noruega!

Once we knew about a promotional cruise Riga-Stockholm-Riga, we could not fail to take advantage of it. We spent two nights on the boat in the Baltic Sea and five hours in Stockholm. It was really fun to go with seven volunteers, review the old and get to know better the new wave. The boat trip on the first night was a little bumpy, we felt the waves a lot, but at the same time it also helped to sleep.

I was quite impressed by Stockholm, there one can feel the true Scandinavian spirit. Everything is well thought out and designed. One can notice that the city is made for people to feel good in it. The prices are quite higher than in Latvia but the quality of life is better.

We were there only for a few hours but it was worth it, we visited the city center and experienced the Christmas spirit very present. The next Nordic country that I want to go is Norway!

Teatro Fadinha da Almofada

Há duas semanas atrás recebemos no infantário o Teatro da Fadinha da Almofada. É sempre divertido ver as crianças durante as peças de teatro, muito observadoras e muito decididas nas intervenções.

Two weeks ago we welcomed at the kindergarten the Pillow Fairy Theater. It's always fun to see the children during the plays, very observant and very decisive in their interventions.

Christmas Market

Entrámos em Dezembro e no primeiro fim de semana tivemos o Mercado de Natal no Infantário. Os pais trouxeram doces e salgados cujo lucro revertia para o infantário. Também havia bancas em que crianças e adultos vendiam várias coisas, desde mel caseiro até meias de Inverno.

Na sala de cima havia várias estações de workshop, fazer velas, anjos, pequenas árvores de Natal e construções com palitos e grão húmido. No final houve o sorteio da lotaria e todos receberam um pequeno presente!

Nunca tinha visto as salas do infantário tão cheias de crianças e pais, tanta animação e actividades a decorrer ao mesmo tempo. Foi óptimo para falar mais um pouco com alguns pais e conhecer os irmãos mais velhos e mais novos das crianças.

We arrived in December and at the first weekend we had the Christmas Market at the Kindergarten. Parents brought sweets and food whose profits reverted to the nursery. There were also tables where children and adults were selling various things, from homemade honey to winter socks.

In the upper room were several workshop stations, making candles, angels, Christmas trees and small buildings with toothpicks and wet grain. At the end there was the draw of the lottery and everyone received a small gift!

I've never seen the kindergarten's rooms so full of children and parents, as much animation and activities taking place at the same time. It was great to talk some more with parents and meet the children's older and younger brothers.
