Este fim de semana tivemos finalmente a oportunidade de conhecer outros voluntários que estão a fazer SVE (Serviço de Voluntariado Europeu) na Letónia. Fomos convidados para ir a uma festa em Gulbene, que ao mesmo tempo celebrava o aniversário do Flávio e era a despedida do Quentin. Vários voluntários que estão na Letónia foram até Gulbene para esta festa e conhecemos pessoas de vários países. Assistimos à apresentação do Quentin sobre o seu voluntariado de 10 meses no Centro Jovem de Gulbene, que foi muito bom e depois ficámos para a festa. Fez-se um churrasco no qual cada um cozinhava o que queria, entre batatas, salsichas, frango, marshmallows... Claro que não pode faltar boa música e cerveja Letã!
O Arrival Training começa no próximo dia 15 e vamos conhecer mais voluntários que chegaram recentemente à Letónia e estão na mesma situação que nós. Vai ser bom para depois termos mais encontros e viagens destas.
This weekend we finally had the opportunity to meet other volunteers that are doing EVS (European Voluntary Service) in Latvia. We were invited to go to a party in Gulbene, that at the same time celebrated Flávio's birthday and was the farewell of Quentin. Several volunteers that are in Latvia came to Gulbene to the party and we met people from several countries. We attended Quentin's presentation about his 10 month volunteer in Gulbene's Youth Center, which as very good and then stayed for the party. We made a barbecue and everyone cooked what they wanted, from potatoes to sausages, chicken, marshmallows... Of course there was good music and Latvian beer!
The arrival training start's on the 15th and we're going to meet more volunteers that recently arrived to Latvia and are in the same situation as we are. It will be good so later we have more meetings and trips like this!
