A nossa última actividade no infantário como voluntários foi a visita à Quinta "Zaķiši", que significa "coelhinhos". No dia anterior as crianças já estavam super entusiasmadas, a falar sobre que animais iam ver e que ia ser uma excursão muito boa! Na quinta-feira, depois do pequeno almoço, vestimos as crianças com os cachecóis, gorros e botas (já é primavera mas continua frio) e fomos para o autocarro. Estavam todos entusiasmados e para alguns era a primeira excursão da sua vida!
A quinta tinha vários animais: várias espécies de coelhos, galos e galinhas, gansos, patos, vacas, cavalos, porcos, castores e cabras. Os animais eram super amigáveis connosco e as crianças estiveram super à vontade com eles. Tínhamos sementes para lhes dar e eles comiam das nossas mãos. Foi óptimo para as crianças estarem em contacto com os animais que ouvem nas músicas e contos do infantário, é importante vê-las de perto e interagir com eles.
Foi uma manhã muito divertida e de descoberta para todos, espero que fique na memória dos mais novos como aquele dia em que viram animais incríveis.
Our last activity at the kindergarten as volunteers was the visit to the Farm "Zaķiši", which means "bunnies". The day before the children were super excited, talking about what animals they were going to see and how great it was going to be! On Thursday, after breakfast, we dressed the children with hats, scarves, and boots (it's already spring but it's still cold here) and went to the bus. They were all excited and for some it was the first excursion of their life!
The farm had several animals: various species of rabbits, roosters and chickens, geese, ducks, cows, horses, pigs, goats and beavers. The animals were super friendly with us and the kids were very comfortable with them. We had seed to feed them and they ate them from our hands. It was great for the children to be in contact with the animals they hear from the kindergarten's songs and fairy tails, it is important to see them up close and interact with them.
It was a morning of fun and discovery for everyone, I hope it stays in the memory of the kids as the day they saw amazing animals.
