Līgatne - Sigulda

No Sábado passado fizemos a nossa primeira caminhada. Fomos de comboio até Līgatne e viemos a pé até Sigulda. Passámos pelo parque de Līgatne e vimos alguns animais, aqueles que se mostraram. Depois de uma pausa para descansar e nos alimentarmos seguimos em direcção ao Rio Gauja, que nos guiaria até Sigulda. Com a intenção de cortar curvas do rio, fomos por atalhos e tivemos de atravessar florestas onde não haviam trilhos e campos sem nada à volta. Estivemos algum tempo indecisos e a tentar descobrir o caminho de volta ao trilho, mas vimos sítios que não teríamos visto se tivéssemos seguido pelo trilho indicado. A paisagem é deslumbrante e encontram-se casas nos sítios mais improváveis e bonitos.

A etapa final foi subir inúmeros degraus até ao miradouro de Paradīzes Kalns, já em Sigulda, que tem a vista mais bonita sobre o vale do Gauja. Foram 30km e 9 horas, no final já não sentia os pés mas, mais uma vez valeu a pena, pelos sítios por onde passámos e pelas aventuras que tivemos. Senti que realizei mais um objectivo na vida e que esta foi a primeira de muitas longas caminhadas.

Last Saturday we did our first hike. We went by train to Līgatne and came back to Sigulda hiking. We passed trough the Līgatne's Park and saw some animals, those who shoed themselves. After a short break to rest and to feed ourselves we continued to Gauja's river, which would lead us until Sigulda. With the intention of cutting some of the river's curves, we went trough shortcuts and had do cross forests where there were no trails and fields in the middle of nowhere. We spent some time in indecision and trying to figure out the way back to the trail, but we saw places that we wouldn't had seen if we follow the trail in the trail in the first place. The landscape is gorgeous and one can find houses in the most unlikely and beautiful spots.

The final stage was going up endless steps until we reached the Paradīzes Kalns' viewpoint, which has the most beautiful view over the Gauja's valley. After 30km and 9 hours, I couldn't feel my feet but once again, it was worth it for the places that we went trough and the adventures we had. I feel that I've conquered another goal in my life and that this was the first of many hikings.

Sigulda à noite

Os dias estão a ficar menos chuvosos e nublados. Estão também a ficar cada vez maiores à medida que nos aproximamos do equinócio de verão. Depois de finais de dias com cores incríveis, a cidade fica vazia. À noite Sigulda é ainda mais calma do que durante o dia, às vezes passa um carro ou outro e ouve-se o comboio distante. É bom para passeios e fotografias noturnos.

The days are less rainy, cloudy and bigger. They are also getting bigger as we get closer to the midsummer. After day's endings with amazing colors, the city gets empty. At night Sigulda is even calmer than during the day, sometimes a car passes or you can hear the distant train. It's good for night walks and photographs.

Paisagem de Sigulda

Nem todas as casas de Sigulda têm o mesmo estilo, mas há muitas que são interessantes pela sua peculiaridade. De certeza que farei mais excursões para fotografar Sigulda.

The houses in Sigulda don't all have the same style, but there are a lot that are interesting because of their peculiarity. I will certainly do more excursions to photograph Sigulda.

Parque Nacional do Gauja

Hoje fomos fazer um passeio de bicicleta por alguns pontos de Sigulda. Fomos ao topo da Igreja Luterana e depois pedalamos até à ponte pedonal do Parque Nacional do Gauja. Passámos pelos trilhos ao longo do rio e fomos até à gruta de Gutman. Foram 18km no meio da floresta e da cidade, subidas e descidas, mas valeu bem a pena. A paisagem é muito bonita e existe uma grande tranquilidade em todo o lado.

Today we went for a bicycle stroll trough some places in Sigulda. We went to the top of the Lutheran Church and then biked to the pedestrian bridge of the Gauja National Park. We passed trough the tracks along the river and went to the Gutman's Cave. It was 18km in the middle of the forest and the city, ups and downs, but it was worth it. The landscape is very beautiful and there is a big tranquility everywhere.

Limpeza do Jardim

Hoje foi Sábado mas de manhã estivemos no infantário. Os pais e mães das crianças vieram para ajudar a limpar o jardim e a fazer um canteiro novo. É incrível ver como todos se juntam para melhorar o espaço onde os filhos brincam no dia a dia e fazê-lo com tão boa disposição. Foi feita uma fogueira onde se queimavam os ramos que iamos colhendo e onde estava uma panela de sopa a cozer. No final do trabalho houve sopa, pão caseiro e carne assada para todos. Estava tudo delicioso e soube ainda melhor ao ar livre, depois do trabalho concluído!

Today was Saturday but in the morning we were at the kindergarten. The children's parents came to help cleaning the garden and make a new flower bed. It's amazing to see how everyone comes together to improve the space where they kids play on a daily routine and make it in such a good mood. A fire was made where were burnt the branches that we collected and where there was a pan with soup cooking. At the of the work there was soup, homemade bread and roasted meat for everyone. Everything was delicious and tasted even better on the open air after the work was done!

Primeiros Dias no Infantário

O tempo passa a correr quando estamos a gostar do que fazemos. E é isso que me acontece todas as manhãs no infantário. As crianças são muito bonitas e fáceis de lidar, apesar de no início não nos entendermos muito bem. Eu respondia em português quando elas falam comigo em letão, mas agora já sei mais algumas palavras, o que ajuda na comunicação. Não demorou muito para que perdessem a timidez e começassem a trepar para cima de mim e a pedir-me para os levantar no ar.

As refeições são feitas em conjunto com os monitores e a comida é optima! Há sempre espaço para brincarmos mas também para cantarmos canções sobre a natureza e fazer jogos de dedos. Lá fora, no recreio, é outro mundo: há o baloiço e a areia, às vezes sou eleito "commander" de um grupo e oferecem-me um ramo; outras vezes tenho de recolher pinhas para construir uma fortaleza.

É um privilégio poder fazer parte disto, todos os dias são diferentes e há sempre algo de novo. O dia da mãe aproxima-se e vou tocar guitarra numa música cantada pelas crianças.

Time flies when you're doing something that you like. And that's what happens to me every morning at the kindergarten. The children are beautiful and easy to deal with, although at the beginning I didn't understood them very well. I answered them in portuguese when they spoke to me in latvian, but know I know a few more words, which makes communication easier. It didn't took very long before they lost their shyness and starting climbing all over me and asking me to lift them up in the air.

The meals are med together with the staff and the food is great! There is always space to play but also to sing song about nature and do finger games. Outside, at the playground, is another world: there is the swing and the sand, sometimes I'm elected "commander" of a group and offered a branch; other times I have to collect pine cones to make a fortress.

It's a privilege to be a part of this, everyday is different and there is always something new. Mother's day is coming and I'm going to play guitar at a song sang by the children.
